The excitement is building as 75 MG racers have already said they are "Planning to race their MGs at Hallett" this coming June 2-4, 2006
The excitement is building! As of today, 75 MG racers have already said they are "Planning to race their MGs at Hallett" - as MGVR celebrates its 25th Anniversary - and the list is growing! (The list is below). It is very possible that there will be over 100 MGs by race day! And the more MGs that enter - the greater the possibilities for special MG race groups (we'll have LOTS of track time - this race event is for MGs ONLY!). Tentative race groups are as follows: Grp A -- Pre War; Grp B - - T type; Grp C - - MGA; Grp D - - MGB/C; Grp E - - Midget. Some fun races are also being considered - as we see the list grow - like handicap, enduro, all-comers, etc.
This is shaping up to be the most exciting all MG race weekend EVER in North America! Preliminary planning is now under way for various race formats, social activities, and event memorabilia. Tentatively, there will be a Friday night BBQ, and a Saturday night dinner at the track. Race entry forms are not available yet, but they should be soon, and we will let you know when they are available.
It will be a 3 day race event - June 2-3-4, 2006. If you would like to take a look at the track and its facilities, visit their web site at: www.hallettracing.com".
As the "MG Vintage Racers' Silver Anniversary Celebration at Hallett" develops, updates on it will be sent out to our MGVR "Hallett Hotlines" list. But if you have any particular questions on it - or suggestions for it - please contact MGVR point man Reed Yates at: YATESS@peoplepc.com or call him at 817-431-8559. As of now Reed says: " The race groups are filling out nicely as you can see from the list below. The MGB bunch is looking particularly strong. We are running a bit behind in the Pre War category and if we don't have at least 8 cars entered we will have to combine Pre War and T types. We only need 4 more, so lets see if we can do it. This will be a race meeting to remember for all who come out to play."
And if you know of anyone else who wishes to receive these direct e-mail updates on this event as it develops, just e-mail Greg at MGracer53@aol.com and let him know what their interest is in the event (racer, spectator, etc.), their e-mail, and they will be added to the "MGVR Hallet Hotlines" lisl. If you plan to race your MG at the event, and are NOT on the list below, please let Greg know, so your name can be added to the list.
